Mino-game Tortoise. According to mythology ten forms of tortoise were said to exist, one with a life span of approximately 1000 years. After about 500 years of life in a plcid pond, plant parasites would emerge as growths upon the tortoise’s shell. This gave rise to the appellation, Mino-game, or “rain-coat” tortoise, because of its resemblance to peasant’s grass coat.
